Speaker Ken Wong
Ken Wong is a faculty member and the Distinguished Professor of Marketing at the SJ Smith School of Business at Queen’s University. As a teacher, Ken has received numerous awards for his courses in strategic planning, marketing and business strategy. He is a member of the Canadian Marketing Hall of Legends, the Kingston Business Hall of Fame and a past winner of the Financial Post’s Leaders in Management Education award. Beyond Queen’s, he has also taught at Cornell, Carleton University, Radcliffe College and Harvard and in executive programs at York University, University of Toronto, Dalhousie University and the University of Alberta.
Ken is a frequent speaker and facilitator in conferences and executive development programs around the world and often appears in print and video media as a business and marketing expert. Ken applies economic and other social sciences to the study of marketing productivity and marketing strategy: an approach that led him to challenge the educational system by launching the first MBA program to operate without any government funding. The program was launched during a period of severe government cutbacks and economic recession…not unlike today. In 1995, in just its third year, it was named by Business Week as the #1 MBA program outside the US.
