Sam Olstein is currently the global director of media and innovation at GE, where he has led many of the company’s most exciting branded projects, including the Connected Volcano, DroneWeek, and a limited-edition GE sneaker. His work bridges a range of industries from digital to technology and engineering, implementing tools such as comics, drones, live experiences, and consumer products to redefine the narrative of GE’s century-long legacy. Olstein also drives measurement best practices for paid digital media from brand to business across the organization.
Before joining GE, Olstein was the East Coast Director at OMD’s Ignition Factory, creating breakthrough new media and marketing campaigns for PepsiCo, CBS, Showtime, and Google. He began his career as an agent with ICM and Paradigm Talent in Los Angeles. He has a track record of award-winning creative media programs with an emphasis on first-to-market, new engagement models, unique platform applications, channel reinvention, and celebrity-technology pairings. Olstein is very active in the startup scene as an advisor, investor, and mentor to many young companies & entrepreneurs. He is also a member of the inaugural Social Impact Council and an innovation advisor for the Ad Council.
